Update InfoPath activity

An activity that changes the XML data in an InfoPath form.



Configure the Update InfoPath activity

To configure the Update InfoPath activity, do the procedure in this topic.

How to Start

  1. On the Organizer, do one of these:
  2. Do one of these:
    • Add an activity:
      1. In the Process Builder, go to the Activity Library, and open the SharePoint tab.
      2. On the SharePoint tab, drag the Update InfoPath activity onto your process.
    • Change an activity:
      1. In your process, double-click your activity.

Procedure

  1. Complete the fields on the General Configuration screen.

    For more information, refer to Configure General Options for a System Activity.

  2. Click Update InfoPath .
  3. Configure Update InfoPath Configuration screen.

    For more information, refer to Change the Data in an InfoPath Form.

  4. (Optional) Click Advanced > E-mail Notification .

    For more information, refer to Configure E-mail Notifications for Any Activity

General Configuration

Specifies the common information for a system activity.

Specifies the activity name that shows in your process.
Accepted Values:
One line of text that can have spaces.

Function:
Specifies an optional description for your activity.
Accepted Values:
More than one line of text.

Update InfoPath Configuration

Specifies the XML data to change in an InfoPath form.

SharePoint
Function:
Specifies the access token that connects to your SharePoint site.
Accepted Values:
A list of access tokens configured for your environment.
Default Value:
None
Accepts Process Data Variables:
No

Add Token

Opens this Screen:
New SharePoint Access Token
Function of this Screen:
Configures a new access token for SharePoint.

Site
Function:
Specifies the URL for your SharePoint site.
Accepted Values:
Default Value:
None
Accepts Process Data Variables:
Yes
Example:

  • http://[machine name]:[port]/sites/[site name]

    You must include the /sites in the Site URL for the site to be created successfully.

Form Library
Function:
Specifies the SharePoint library with the InfoPath form.
Accepted Values:
A valid SharePoint form library.
Default Value:
None
Accepts Process Data Variables:
Yes

Folder Name
Function:
Specifies the name of your SharePoint folder.
Accepted Values:
The name of your SharePoint folder
Default Value:
None
Accepts Process Data Variables:
Yes

InfoPath File Name
Function:
Specifies the name of your InfoPath form file.
Accepted Values:
A valid file name.
Default Value:
${DocName}
Accepts Process Data Variables:
Yes

InfoPath XPath Name
Function:
Specifies the name of the XML data element of the InfoPath form to set a new value.
Accepted Values:
A valid data element in the XML.
Default Value:
None
Accepts Process Data Variables:
Yes

Value
Function:
The new value for the XML data element of the InfoPath form.
Accepted Values:
A value that is valid for the InfoPath field or SharePoint column.
Default Value:
None
Accepts Process Data Variables:
Yes

Add

Function:
Creates a row that lets you add the name and value of the XML data element of the InfoPath form.

Remove

Function:
Deletes the row.
