Send Salesforce E-mail activity

An activity that sends an e-mail using a Salesforce e-mail template.



Configure the Send Salesforce E-mail activity

To configure the Send Salesforce E-mail activity, do the procedure in this topic.

How to Start

  1. On the Organizer, do one of these:
  2. Do one of these:
    • Add an activity:
      1. In the Process Builder, in the Activity Library, open the Salesforce tab.
      2. On the Salesforce tab, drag the Send Salesforce E-mail activity onto your process.
    • Change an activity:
      1. In your process, double-click your activity.

Procedure

  1. Complete the fields on the General Configuration screen.

  2. Click Send Salesforce E-mail .
  3. Do one of these:

  4. (Optional) Click Advanced > E-mail Notification .

    For more information, refer to Configure E-mail Notifications for Any Activity

General Configuration

Specifies the basic information for a CRM activity.



Fields

Field Name Definition

Display Name
Function:
Specifies the activity name that shows in your process.
Accepted Values:
One line of text that can have spaces.
Default Value:
None
Accepts Process Data Variables:
No

Description
Function:
Specifies an optional description for your activity.
Accepted Values:
More than one line of text.
Default Value:
None
Accepts Process Data Variables:
No

Connection Timeout (Seconds)
Function:
Specifies the number of seconds permitted to complete an action before the connection stops.
Accepted Values:
An integer that represents a number of seconds.
Default Value:
600
Accepts Process Data Variables:
No

Send Salesforce E-mail Configuration > Salesforce Template

Sets the email template and credentials to send an e-mail with Salesforce.

Salesforce
Function:
Specifies the access token that connects to your Salesforce application.
Accepted Values:
A list of access tokens configured for your environment.
Default Value:
None

Add Token

Opens this Screen:
New Salesforce Access Token
Function of this Screen:
Configures a new access token for Salesforce.

Use AgilePoint E-mail Template
Function:
Uses an AgilePoint e-mail template for your e-mail.
Accepted Values:
Default Value:
Deselected

Template Name
Function:
Specifies the e-mail template to use.
Accepted Values:
An e-mail template name from the list.
Default Value:
None

When you select the Salesforce access token, the Template Name field is completed.

Template ID
Function:
Specifies your e-mail template ID.
Accepted Values:
The ID for your e-mail template.
Default Value:
None

When you select the name of the template from Template Name field, the correct ID shows in this field.

Sender User Name
Function:
Specifies the name of the user from the list to whom to send an email with the Salesforce email template.
Accepted Values:
A valid user name.
Default Value:
None

When you select the Salesforce access token, the user name shows in this field.

Sender User ID
Function:
Specifies a Salesforce user ID for the user.
Accepted Values:
A valid user ID.
Default Value:
None

When you select the user name from the Target User Names field, the ID of the user shows in this field.

Send Salesforce E-mail Configuration > E-mail Template tab

Specifies the information for an email sent from Salesforce, such as recipients, subject, body, and priority.

Add New E-mail Template

Opens this Screen:
New E-mail Template
Function of this Screen:
Specifies the content of an email template. An email template determines recipients, subject, body, and other aspects of an automated email template sent from AgilePoint.

E-mail Template Preview
Function:
Shows a preview of the selected e-mail template.
Accepted Values:
Read only.
