Post Message activity

An activity that posts a private message to a specified user or a group.



Configure the Post Message activity

To configure the Post Message activity, do the procedure in this topic.

How to Start

  1. On the Organizer, do one of these:
  2. Do one of these:
    • Add an activity:
      1. In the Process Builder, in the Activity Library open the Yammer tab.
      2. On the Yammer tab, drag the Post Message activity onto your process.
    • Change an activity:
      1. In your process, double-click your activity.

Procedure

  1. Complete the fields on the General Configuration screen.

    For more information, refer to Configure General Options for a System Activity.

  2. Click Post Message .
  3. Complete the fields on these screens.
    1. Post Message to Yammer Configuration > Send Private Message tab.
    2. Post Message to Yammer Configuration > Post in a Group tab.

  4. (Optional) Click Advanced > E-mail Notification .

    For more information, refer to Configure E-mail Notifications for Any Activity

General Configuration

Specifies the common information for a system activity.



Fields

Field Name Definition

Display Name
Function:
Specifies the activity name that shows in your process.
Accepted Values:
One line of text that can have spaces.
Default Value:
None
Accepts Process Data Variables:
No

Description
Function:
Specifies an optional description for your activity.
Accepted Values:
More than one line of text.
Default Value:
None
Accepts Process Data Variables:
No

Post Message to Yammer Configuration > Send Private Message

Configures a message to send to a specified user.

Function:
Specifies the access token that connects to Yammer.
Accepted Values:
A list of access tokens configured for your environment.
Default Value:
None
Accepts Process Data Variables:
No

Add Token

Opens this Screen:
New Yammer Access Token
Function of this Screen:
Configures a new access token for Yammer.

Network Name
Function:
Specifies the name of your Yammer network.
Accepted Values:
Read only.

When you select the Yammer access token, the associated network name shows in the Network name field.

Default Value:
None

Select Users
Function:
Specifies the users from the user list.

Message
Function:
Specifies the content of the message.
Accepted Values:
More than one line of text.
Default Value:
None
Accepts Process Data Variables:
Yes

Add File URL
Function:
Specifies the location of the attachment file.
Accepted Values:
An absolute path and file name on the AgilePoint Server or SharePoint Server.

Only one attachment is not supported.

Default Value:
None
Accepts Process Data Variables:
Yes
Example:
  • c:\My Documents\sample1.doc
  • ${HomeDirectory}\sample2.doc
  • http://demo3:8000/DocumentLib1/sample3.doc

Store the Response Thread ID in Custom Attribute or Schema
Function:
Specifies the name of the process data variable that is used to store the response thread ID.
Accepted Values:
A process data variable.
Default Value:
None
Accepts Process Data Variables:
Yes

Sets up a message to send to a specified group..
