Post Feed To Chatter User activity

An activity that posts a specified Chatter feed to a Chatter user.



Configure the Post Feed to Chatter User activity

To configure the Post Feed to Chatter User activity, do the procedure in this topic.

How to Start

  1. On the Organizer, do one of these:
  2. Do one of these:
    • Add an activity:
      1. In the Process Builder, in the Activity Library, open the Chatter tab.
      2. On the Chatter tab, drag the Post Feed To Chatter User activity onto your process.
    • Change an activity:
      1. In your process, double-click your activity.

Procedure

  1. Complete the fields on the General Configuration screen.

    For more information, refer to Configure General Options for a System Activity.

  2. Click Post Feed To Chatter User .
  3. Configure Configuration to Post Feed To Chatter User screen.

    For more information, refer to Send a Feed to a ​User in Chatter.

  4. (Optional) Click Advanced > E-mail Notification .

    For more information, refer to Configure E-mail Notifications for Any Activity

General Configuration

Specifies the common information for a system activity.

Specifies the activity name that shows in your process.
Accepted Values:
One line of text that can have spaces.

Description
Function:
Specifies an optional description for your activity.
Accepted Values:
More than one line of text.
Default Value:
None
Accepts Process Data Variables:
No

Configuration to Post Feed To Chatter User

Specifies a Chatter feed to post to a Chatter user.

Chatter
Function:
Specifies the access token that connects to your Salesforce Chatter application.
Accepted Values:
A list of access tokens configured for your environment.
Default Value:
None

Add Token

Opens this Screen:
New Salesforce Access Token
Function of this Screen:
Configures a new access token for Salesforce.

Instance Name
Function:
Specifies the name of your Salesforce production environment.
Accepted Values:
A valid Salesforce environment URL.
Default Value:
None.

When you select the Chatter access token, the Salesforce environment URL is shown in the Instance Name field.

Accepts Process Data Variables:
No

User
Function:
Specifies the user name to associate with the action.
Accepted Values:
Default Value:
None
Accepts Process Data Variables:
Yes

Select Users
Function:
Specifies the users from the user list.

Message
Function:
Specifies the content of the message.
Accepted Values:
More than one line of text.
Default Value:
None
Accepts Process Data Variables:
Yes

Add File URL
Function:
Specifies the location of the attachment file.
Accepted Values:
An absolute path and file name on the AgilePoint Server or SharePoint Server.

Only one attachment is not supported.

Default Value:
None
Accepts Process Data Variables:
Yes
Example:
  • c:\My Documents\sample1.doc
  • ${HomeDirectory}\sample2.doc
  • http://demo3:8000/DocumentLib1/sample3.doc

Store the Feed Item ID in Custom Attribute or Schema
Function:
Specifies the process data variable that contains the feed item ID.
Accepted Values:
A process data variable.
Default Value:
None
Accepts Process Data Variables:
Yes
