Post Feed To Chatter Group activity

An activity that posts a Chatter feed to a specified group.

To configure the Post Feed To Chatter Group activity, do the procedure in this topic.

How to Start

  1. On the Organizer, do one of these:
  2. Do one of these:
    • Add an activity:
      1. In the Process Builder, in the Activity Library, open the Chatter tab.
      2. On the Chatter tab, drag the Post Feed To Chatter Group activity onto your process.
    • Change an activity:
      1. In your process, double-click your activity.

Procedure

  1. Complete the fields on the General Configuration screen.

    For more information, refer to Configure General Options for a System Activity.

  2. Click Post Feed To Chatter Group .
  3. Complete the fields on the Configuration to Post Feed in Chatter Group screen.

    For more information, refer to Send a Feed to a Group in Chatter.

  4. (Optional) Click Advanced > E-mail Notification .

    For more information, refer to Configure E-mail Notifications for Any Activity

General Configuration

Specifies the common information for a system activity.

Specifies the activity name that shows in your process.
Accepted Values:
One line of text that can have spaces.

Description
Function:
Specifies an optional description for your activity.
Accepted Values:
More than one line of text.
Default Value:
None
Accepts Process Data Variables:
No

Configuration to Post Feed in Chatter Group

Deletes a specified group from your Chatter network.

Chatter
Function:
Specifies the access token that connects to your Salesforce Chatter application.
Accepted Values:
A list of access tokens configured for your environment.
Default Value:
None

Add Token

Opens this Screen:
New Salesforce Access Token
Function of this Screen:
Configures a new access token for Salesforce.

Instance Name
Function:
Specifies the name of your Salesforce production environment.
Accepted Values:
A valid Salesforce environment URL.
Default Value:
None.

When you select the Chatter access token, the Salesforce environment URL is shown in the Instance Name field.

Group
Function:
Specifies the name of the group or the process data variable that contains the group ID.
Accepted Values:
Default Value:
None
Accepts Process Data Variables:
Yes

Message
Function:
Specifies the content of the message.
Accepted Values:
More than one line of text.
Default Value:
None
Accepts Process Data Variables:
Yes

File Url
Function:
Specifies the location of the attachment file.
Accepted Values:
An absolute path and file name on the AgilePoint Server or SharePoint Server.

Only one attachment is not supported.

Default Value:
None
Accepts Process Data Variables:
Yes
Example:
  • c:\My Documents\sample1.doc
  • ${HomeDirectory}\sample2.doc
  • http://demo3:8000/DocumentLib1/sample3.doc

Store the response Feed Item ID in Custom Attribute or Schema
Function:
Specifies the process data variable that stores the feed item ID.
Accepted Values:
A process data variable.
Default Value:
None
Accepts Process Data Variables:
Yes
