Comment To Chatter Feed activity

An activity that posts a comment to a specified thread in a Chatter feed.



Configure the Comment To Chatter Feed activity

To configure the Comment To Chatter Feed activity, do the procedure in this topic.

How to Start

  1. On the Organizer, do one of these:
  2. Do one of these:
    • Add an activity:
      1. In the Process Builder, in the Activity Library, open the Chatter tab.
      2. On the Chatter tab, drag the Comment To Chatter Feed activity onto your process.
    • Change an activity:
      1. In your process, double-click your activity.

Procedure

  1. Complete the fields on the General Configuration screen.

    For more information, refer to Configure General Options for a System Activity.

  2. Click Comment To Chatter Feed .
  3. Complete the fields on the Configuration to Comment in Chatter Feed screen.

    For more information, refer to Post a Comment to a Chatter Feed.

  4. (Optional) Click Advanced > E-mail Notification .

    For more information, refer to Configure E-mail Notifications for Any Activity

General Configuration

Specifies the common information for a system activity.

Specifies the activity name that shows in your process.
Accepted Values:
One line of text that can have spaces.
Default Value:
None
Accepts Process Data Variables:
No

Description
Function:
Specifies an optional description for your activity.
Accepted Values:
More than one line of text.
Default Value:
None
Accepts Process Data Variables:
No

Configuration to Comment in Chatter Feed

Sets up a comment in a Chatter feed.



Fields

Chatter
Function:
Specifies the access token that connects to your Salesforce Chatter application.
Accepted Values:
A list of access tokens configured for your environment.
Default Value:
None

Add Token

Opens this Screen:
New Salesforce Access Token
Function of this Screen:
Configures a new access token for Salesforce.

Instance Name
Function:
Specifies the name of your Salesforce production environment.
Accepted Values:
A valid Salesforce environment URL.
Default Value:
None.

When you select the Chatter access token, the Salesforce environment URL is shown in the Instance Name field.

Accepts Process Data Variables:
No

Feed ID
Function:
Specifies the ID of the Chatter message thread to which to post your comment.
Accepted Values:
A process data variable.
Default Value:
None
Accepts Process Data Variables:
Yes

Message
Function:
Specifies the content of the message.
Accepted Values:
More than one line of text.
Default Value:
None
Accepts Process Data Variables:
Yes

File Url
Function:
Specifies the location of the attachment file.
Accepted Values:
An absolute path and file name on the AgilePoint Server or SharePoint Server.

Only one attachment is not supported.

Default Value:
None
Accepts Process Data Variables:
Yes
Example:
  • c:\My Documents\sample1.doc
  • ${HomeDirectory}\sample2.doc
  • http://demo3:8000/DocumentLib1/sample3.doc
