How to Start

  1. On the Organizer, do one of these:

    • Add an activity:
      1. In the Process Builder, in the Activity Library, open the Chatter tab.
      2. On the Chatter tab, drag the Create ChatterGroup activity onto your process.
    • Change an activity:
      1. In your process, double-click your activity.
  3. Click Create Chatter Group .

Procedure

  1. On the Configuration to Create Group in Chatter screen, in the Chatter field, select your Salesforce Chatter access token.

    To create a new access token, click Add Token . For more information, refer to New Salesforce Access Token.

    When you select the Chatter access token, the Salesforce environment URL is shown in the Instance Name field.

  2. In the Group Name field, enter the name of your chatter group.
  3. Complete these fields as necessary.

    Group Name

    Function:
    Specifies the name of your Chatter group.
    Accepted Values:
    One line of text.
    Default Value:
    None
    Accepts Process Data Variables:
    Yes

    Description

    Function:
    A description of the group.

    Visibility

    Function:
    Specifies whether anyone or only members of the group can see and add posts, comments, and files.
    Accepted Values:
    • PublicAccess - Anyone can see and add posts, comments, and files.
    • PrivateAccess - Only group members can see and add posts, comments, and files.
    Default Value:
    None
    Accepts Process Data Variables:
    No
  4. (Optional) To store the group ID as a process data variable, add the variable from the Process Variables screen to the field Store the respone Group ID in Custom Attribute or Schema.

    Specifies the process data variable that stores the group ID.
    Accepted Values:
    A process data variable.
