Use Process Variables to Configure an Activity or a Form Control
As an alternative to using literal data in a configuration field, process variables are short codes that let you use data that changes with input from process participants or external systems. To use process variables in activity or form control configuration, do the procedure in this topic.
Process Data Screen
How to Start
- Do one of these:
- In a process, add or change any activity.
- In a eForm, add or change any form control.
- On the configuration screen, click the Process Data tab.
Procedure
- On the Process Data screen, select the type of data you want.
Field Name Definition Form Data
- Function:
- Expands the list of process data variables available from the forms in your application.
Model Data
- Function:
- Expands the list of process data variables available from the process in your application.
System Data
- Opens this Screen:
- Process Data > System Data
- Function of this Screen:
- Gives the process data variables that come out of the box (OOTB) for you to use in your application
Global Data
- Function:
- Expands the list of process data variables from data that is available to your application.
- In the list of variables, drag your variable into the field you want to configure.
