Why Are My AgilePoint Web Parts Unable to Connect to AgilePoint Server?

Symptoms

After installing the AgilePoint SharePoint Integration component manually, the following error message is displayed for the AgilePoint web parts:
Unable to connect to AgilePoint Server.

Cause

AgilePoint configuration is not set up properly.

Resolution

  1. Open AgilePoint Configuration List, and then check the configuration of the following five AP Setting Key values. For more information, refer to Set the AgilePoint Configuration List for SharePoint Integration On Premises

    The values in the AgilePoint Configuration List are cached; any change to the list requires an IISReset.

    AP Setting Key Value

    ServerUrl

    The URL of AgilePoint Server.

    Format: http://[AgilePoint Server machine name]:[WsHttp Port]/AgilePointServer

    ImpersonatorDomain

    The domain name for the SharePoint impersonator account.

    ImpersonatorUser

    The user name for the SharePoint impersonator account.

    ImpersonatorPass

    The password for the SharePoint impersonator account.

    HostingMechanism

    • IIS – A standard, web-based installation.
    • WCF –  A Windows service installation.

Cause

After manual installation of the SharePoint Integration component, the bindings for AgilePoint Server haven't been set up properly.

Resolution

  1. Run the AgilePointWindowsServiceClientUtilityTool.exe utility against the SharePoint web.config.

Cause

The user account that you used to log on to SharePoint is not a registered user account in AgilePoint.

Resolution

  1. Log on to Enterprise Manager using the AgilePoint Service account, and then register the logged on user account.
