Send a Feed to a ​User in Chatter

To send a Chatter feed to a user, do the procedure in this topic.

How to Start

  1. On the Organizer, do one of these:

    • Add an activity:
      1. In the Process Builder, in the Activity Library, open the Chatter tab.
      2. On the Chatter tab, drag the Post Feed To Chatter User activity onto your process.
    • Change an activity:
      1. In your process, double-click your activity.
  3. Click Post Feed To Chatter User .

Procedure

  1. On the Configuration to Send or Reply Message in Chatter screen, in the Chatter field, select your Chatter access token.

    To create a new access token, click New Salesforce Access Token.

    When you select the Chatter access token, the associated Salesforce instance URL shows in the Instance Name field.

  2. Complete these fields as necessary.

    Specifies the user name to associate with the action.

    Select Users

    Function:
    Specifies the users from the user list.

    Message

    Function:
    Specifies the content of the message.
    Accepted Values:
    More than one line of text.
    Default Value:
    None
    Accepts Process Data Variables:
    Yes

    Add File URL

    Function:
    Specifies the location of the attachment file.
    Accepted Values:
    An absolute path and file name on the AgilePoint Server or SharePoint Server.

    Only one attachment is not supported.

    Default Value:
    None
    Accepts Process Data Variables:
    Yes

  3. (Optional) To store the feed item ID as a process data variable, add the variable from the Process Variables screen to the field Store the Response Feed Item ID in Custom Attribute or Schema.
